Developmental sheet

Periodically, Addy's school does a state write up on development for each kiddo.  We got Addy's yesturday and we are so proud of her!

Addy can:
*count up to 20 and they are working on counting to 30
*recognizes all her letters and is going to be working on writing her letters
*knows and uses sign language
*Plays well with peers, imaginative play, & independent play.
*Fine and gross motor skills are right on if not a little higher.
*Communites wants and needs
*Talks in full sentences
*Follows 2 step directions by adults
*Communicates when happy and excited.- they are working on labelling angry and sad. We are also to start labelling our emotions so see understand what they are.
*working on labelling the days of the week.  We are working on this at home too.
*She knows how to properly cut with scissors.  But will continue to work on it.

Things we have seen:

She labels a ton of things while in the car. Things she sees out in the community.  We always are talking about something in the car.  If she doesn't know what it is, she asks, or she comes up with what she thinks it is!  For example, near her school, there are huge rock piles and dirt piles.  She calls them mountains!  They look like mountains so for her to come up with that was pretty clever!  We of course tell her what they are but she then calls them dirt mountains or rock mountains!

If you draw a simple picture, she will attempt to draw it herself!  I made a sun one day on her paper and she did a really good job making her own! 

She has almost mastered buttoning her pj's that have buttons!  Her focus and determination on new skills amazes us!

She is really good at kicking the big red ball that we have in the basesment.  Justin rolls the ball to her across the room and she yells, " I got it!" and kicks it, with her left foot and nails it everytime.  I def. think we will have her in soccer and possibly get her a little soccer set up for the spring/summer in our backyard!

I've noticed her going back and forth more with her two hands.  Left and right.  Before she was always left and lately she has been switching.  She must be trying to figure out what is the most comfortable way for her.  Sometimes when they are starting to write and draw more, they start to go back and forth. 

She is playing more wit er babies and taking care of her baby doll. She made a picnic the other day with her baby in the living room.  She helped it sit up, she fed it fake fruit and then when it was time for a bottle, she sat nicely on the couch, holding her baby like a newborn and fed it her bottle!  It was so sweet!  I love the ways she talks to her baby doll too!  The softest tone. 

While we have our roaring moments with her, she is a little sweetheart who is just trying to figure out her world more.  To see boundaries, to understand limitations, to learn to her fullest everyday! 

She is a blessing and we love her so much!
