update on papa

I got to the hospital around 945 am and papa went back down to surgery due to internal bleeding. We finally spoke to the surgeon around noon and he told us that everything looked much better than it did last night! thank GOD! He said he was able to fix the parts of the aorta that he could and that they patched up some other things that were oozing a little bit (sorry). They also gave him a platelet and plasma transfusion to help his blood clot. It thinned out so much because of a freezing procedure they had to do the night before. He also explained what happened last night again so that we all could try and comprehend what happened. Once they closed him up and did the EKG they noticed that the aorta had an aneurysm and that there was more bleeding. Once they got back in they basically froze him to limit blood flow in the body. I believe it was 18 degrees celsius/50degrees Farenheit. After they repaired the aorta again they closed him up but things didn't look good.

When I left we had seen papa 2 times and he looks puffy and has tubes everywhere and machines. It is a very sureal and scarey sight to see but there are so many people pulling and praying for him. They did say his blood pressure was still a little low and that they were going to do 2 more transfusions to see if that would help. Dad is going to keep me posted if anything changes but right now he is resting and they don't expect him to wake up for about 2 days.

Thank you to all of you who have been praying and thinking of our papa and our family.
God Bless
