Today Addyson had a dr's appointment. She now weights 8 lbs 12 oz's and is 22 inches long! she is in the 95th percentile for length! The new formula has been working wonders on her tummy and doesn't really need gripe water anymore! We were suprised how well she did since we were giving her gripe water before every feeding. We did use it a couple times this weekend but only once at night and once during the day. Dr. Weibel gave us a couple more samples of the formula and a form to fill out to get a free case of it! Bonus!! She wants her to stay on this formula for at least 2-3 months and then she will let us know what to switch her to. She eats, plays and then sleeps. Its so much better than her not napping and crying in pain after feedings!

I talked to her about Addyson spitting up after most feedings and questioned acid reflux. She said she most likely has a little issue but since she is gaining weight and not spitting up at every feeding they won't prescribe anything. However if it gets worse we should call and they will do something then for her. She was also shocked at how little she was eating. She only eats about 3-3.5 oz. every 3 hours. She said most babies are up to 6-8 every 4 hrs so we are to push 4 oz now and eventually she will increase on her own. Its common with babies that were breastfed. They eat smaller meals more frequently.

We talked about her skin. She has a rash on her face not baby acne and it goes onto her chest a little. we are to use nothing but warm water on her face and we need to switch to sensitive skin johnsons body wash. Just so no dyes or perfumes touch her while in the tub. We already use free and clear wipes and those do wonders for her bottom!

She could have gotten shots today but she told me I could wait 2 weeks if I wanted to. I agreed to waiting since she was having tummy issues. I wanted to let her heal a little more before shocking her body with shots :( plus I wasn't mentally prepared for that myself! She told me at the end of our appointment that she could get shots since she is 6 weeks old. We got on the 19th now though.

Dr. Weibel also diagnosed her with a mild case of colic and said its usually at its peek right now and will be tappering off soon. Which with the help of this new formula, its already so much better!

She is still sleeping through the night and she loves her baby einstein play gym. She lays under it and coos! She loves the music and the lights that are on it too! Okay time to feed the baby!
